ExperienceI have been a private tutor for 8 years, and have experience tutoring middle school, high school, and college students. I have worked as a Day Camp counselor for three years so I also work well with children as young as 5-12 yrs old. My personal SAT score was 2210, and I have taken the following relevant AP tests: AP Biology (Score:5), AP Calculus BC (Score:5), and AP English Language and Composition (Score:4). I have a 100% passing rate with teaching AP Biology (2 out of 3 students received a 5, the third student received a 4). While attending UCSD, I served as an undergraduate TA 7 times, in courses of General Biology (AP Biology material and beyond), Mammalian Physiology, Metabolic Biochemistry, and Endocrinology. I love teaching and tutoring because I love helping struggling students develop better study and test-taking skills, as well as help any level student grasp difficult concepts and make the subject enjoyable. I am half-Japanese and am fluent (reading/writing/speaking).
HobbiesIn my spare time I like to relax and enjoy a good book or good movie, and also cook. I love to sing, especially Disney songs :)

I work at UCSD. I am involved in teaching. Nozomi tutored my son two hours a week for his Japanese 101 class at Palomar College. He is 16 years old. Nozomi is a very patience tutor and knows her subject. She would instruct the lesson related to the chapter of interest. She would then go over the homework. She had my son practice reading and speaking in Japanese at each tutoring lesson. My son said she has a great sense of humor which made the tutoring fun. She is an excellent tutor and worth the money. My son did well in his class last semester and is now currently in Japanese 102.
Nozomi is very intelligent and responsible. My 10th grade daughter had serious problem with her AP Bio and almost failed the 1st semester. I found Nozomi from this website. I trusted her from the beginning. After finishing her BS from UCSD, she worked as a TA while applying for graduating school. Yes, she got into UCSF Pharmacy. I, myself, finished Ph.D in engineering from UCSD so I have quite good instinct to discern who is good or bad tutors. She has very systematic teaching skills and patient. Well, my daughter did not get 5 on her AP bio test, but got 4 and good SAT subject score, and her 2nd semester scores were improved so much. I am so sad that I cannot use her for my kids' tutor in San Diego area any more but some other lucky ones will find her.
