Experience
I have two years of tutoring experience. I have worked with kids between 2nd and 10th grade in a variety of settings: one on one, small groups (<10 people), as well as full classes of students at after-school enrichment centers. My past experience has primarily been in elementary school math/English, but I have also pre-algebra and chemistry. I have received 5s in the following AP courses: Environmental Science, Physics B, Biology, US History, Calculus. I want to continue tutoring because it brings me great joy to see that lightbulb moment when a student understands what I am explaining to them. Tutoring/teaching trains me to be a better communicator, which is useful in all parts of life. I have taught English to elementary students in Taiwan through the AID summer program, volunteered in elementary schools in Oakland, and engaged Honduran students in clean water projects.
